Marcis Leja Studied Medicine at Riga Medical institute (now: Riga Stradins’ University), got trained in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology in the same University. Has been responsible for the training program in gastroenterology in University Clinic “Linezers” (1992-1995), since 1998 – involved in post-graduate training in gastroenterology. Associate Professor at Faculty of Medicine since 2007, Professor of Medicine – since 2014.
He is heading the Department of Research at Riga East University hospital and employed as a consulting gastroenterologist indigestive Diseases Diseases Centre GASTRO. He is member of editorial boards of Digestive Diseases and Sciences, American Journal of Cancer Epidemiology and Prevention, Exosomes and Microvesicles, Vestnik of Vitebsk State Medical University.
